Mounting Considerations of a Pressure transmitter.

The following observations must be taken into account for the different types of process pressures to be measured.

Measurement in liquids

With the installation used in horizontal line, the transmitter impulse line must be mounted below the measurement point, so that the discharge pipe is always full of liquid and gas bubbles can pass into the process pipeline.

Measurement in steam service

Mount the pressure transmitter above the tapping point, using a connection tube (see above figures). By means of the connection tube, the temperature in front of the diaphragm is reduced enough so that it becomes almost equal to the ambient temperature.

The tube must be filled with water before putting it the system runs into operation.

Measurement in gases

Mount the transmitter with shut-off valve above the tapping point, so that condensate flow into the process pipeline.
